Psalm 36:1 “The transgression of the wicked saith within my heart, that there is no fear of God before his eyes.”
“The transgression of the wicked” is outright rebellion against “God”, His Word, and His Church. The “wicked” have “no fear of God”; therefore, they appear unrestrained in their quest to satisfy their greed, lust for power, lust for wealth, and lust for fame. There seems to be no limit to their evilness, cruelty, and dishonesty. Such awful “transgression” strikes to the very “heart” of God-Fearing People. Seeing the seemingly unrestrained evil of “the wicked”, greatly grieves the “heart” of those who love and revere the Lord. Seeing such things ought to compel us to the “throne of grace” (Hebrews 4:16), like Hezekiah who spread the enemy’s letter before the Lord and prayed (II Kings 14). The Lord heard Hezekiah’s prayer and delivered Israel with a mighty display of His Sovereign Power (II Kings 19:35). In view of the present turmoil in our Country, let us urgently bring our distress before the Lord and “Pray without ceasing.” (I Thessalonians 5:17)!
