Isaiah 1:24 “Therefore saith the Lord, the LORD of hosts, the mighty One of Israel, Ah, I will ease me of mine adversaries, and avenge me of mine enemies:”
Here is the reason that we should not fall into despair and go around crying woe is me! Our God is “the Lord, the LORD of hosts, the mighty One of Israel”; that is, while the wicked may think that they have the upper hand, our God has preeminent control of all things, He owns it all, He is the Master of us all, He is truly omnipotent and has power over all people and things, He did and will again show Himself to be “the mighty One of Israel”! For His glory and the sake of His beloved “remnant” (Isaiah 1:9), there will come a moment in which “the Lord GOD” will Sovereignly Declare, “An end, the end is come upon the four corners of the land. 3 Now is the end come upon thee, and I will send mine anger upon thee, and will judge thee according to thy ways, and will recompense upon thee all thine abominations.” (Ezekiel 7:2-3). He has done it before and He will do it again, the wicked will not be victorious over our God! In the following verses, the Lord declares that He “will ease” Himself of His “adversaries, and avenge” Himself “of” His “enemies”. Those who think they have a green light to tread upon the Word of God, to promote and push dominating meanness and immoralities upon the “remnant” will one day wake to find themselves “devoured with the sword” (Isaiah 1:20). In that day, our Lord will again restore morality, integrity, and faithful worship to the land for His glory and the joy of His people!
