II Chronicles 15:2 “And he went out to meet Asa, and said unto him, Hear ye me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin; The LORD is with you, while ye be with him; and if ye seek him, he will be found of you; but if ye forsake him, he will forsake you.”
To the Children of God, there is no greater misery than to suddenly feel the need of “The LORD”, only to find that: “Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me:” (Proverbs 1:28). Ever since Genesis Chapter Three, cyclically the Children of God have neglected their worshipful service and obedience to the Lord and turned to their own intellect and strength and idols for joy, comfort, and deliverance. But, when we do, we ultimately fail ourselves and fall into great misery; then an overwhelming sense of failure and fear sets in. But, because our “Lord” is “a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth” (Psalms 86:15); He “will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever” (Psalms 103:9). For, “if” we “seek him,” in a time and manner pleasing to Him, “he will be found of” us! “The LORD” plainly tells us what it means to “seek him”: “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” (II Chronicles 7:14). Israel didn’t, and they lost their Country and found themselves in captivity in a distant land!
