II Corinthians 1:13 “For we write none other things unto you, than what ye read or acknowledge; and I trust ye shall acknowledge even to the end; 14 As also ye have acknowledged us in part, that we are your rejoicing, even as ye also are ours in the day of the Lord Jesus.”
While many are in constant pursuit of “some new thing” (Acts 17:21), Paul declares that he and the brethren with him continue to steadfastly write and preach and teach the same Gospel of Jesus Christ our Lord that they had written and preached and taught in the beginning of their ministry. Furthermore, this same blessed Gospel, that was good for the saints of God in the Apostles’ time, is good for us now, and will be good “even to the end”. Paul didn’t change his message to fit the crowd; the same Gospel message is good for the wealthy and the poor, the strong and the weak, the renown and the unknown, the highly educated and those with little education, and the Jews as well as the Gentiles. When this same Old Gospel message is preached and taught, even in our day, both the preachers and the Churches rejoice. And it will remain the best News on Earth until “the end”, “the day of the Lord Jesus”; that is, when the Lord returns to Command, “Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world” (Matthew 25:34). Indeed, “What a day that will be” (Jim Hill)!
