Deuteronomy 32:27 “The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy them.”
Here is one of those golden passages that comforts and sooths the Children of God in every generation; for, much like He opened His “everlasting arms” to support, comfort, and protect Israel of old, so He does for His Children in every generation. He is “The eternal God”; thus, He is ever present and never fails. He is our secure “refuge” to Whom we flee in times of trouble, distress, fear, heartbreak, confusion, etc. And when we are weakened by our tribulations and about to fall, we suddenly and joyfully realize that His “everlasting arms” are lovingly “underneath”, holding us up and caring us forward. It is true that, while we live in this present world evil and bad things happen to us, and bad people seek every opportunity to harm us; but, never forget that there will come a point in which our “eternal God” “shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy them”! Speaking prophetically of the coming Church-Kingdom, the Psalmist declared, “God is known in her palaces for a refuge.” (Psalm 48:3). Our Lord has come and established Her, so let us flee to Her, “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.” (Hebrews 10:25).
