2022-05-31 Work Of The Holy Comforter

John 14:25  “These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you26  But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

The most kind and loving and caring Lord perfectly understood that these men were having difficulty understanding the things He was teaching them, they probably didn’t even understand how the “Comforter” was going to help them; but, their faith compelled them to lovingly cling to their Lord any way.  The “Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost” is One in the Triune Godhead (I John 5:7).  The “Comforter” began to do this very thing on the day of “Pentecost” (Acts 2) when He moved within these men with such power and clarity that they plainly preached Jesus Christ the Son of God and the Church-Kingdom of God.  This blessed “Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost” remains active within us to this very day.  We often read and study the word of God and wonder, ‘what does that mean’; then one day “the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost” brings it again to our “remembrance” and teaches us what it means and explains the application of it.  This is why we ought to read the Word of God as much as possible, attend Church as much as possible, and discuss the Scripture as much as possible.  It is indeed a great comfort when the “Holy Ghost” (Holy Spirit) reminds us of what we have previously read or heard and gives us the understanding of it and explains how we use it to give glory to our Lord and have greater peace in our lives.
