Isaiah 5:20 “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!”
It is absolutely disastrous to a society when men begin to embrace and promote “evil” behaviors as if they were “good” behaviors and condemn “good” behaviors as if there were “evil” behaviors! There is a fundamental contrast between “good” and “evil” that the natural minded man wants to blur and confuse, for the more confused it becomes in society, the easier it is for the ungodly to satisfy their vile lusts, usually at the expense of others. In order for this confusion to succeed, it has been necessary to confuse religion, distort Biblical Doctrine, depart from the Word of God, and to discredit the Church of Jesus Christ. In the process, American families have fallen apart, for several generations children have been struggling to young adulthood without the benefit of a strong and loving family and a Church that clings to the Lord and His Word. There has been “evil” in this world ever since Cain slew his brother (Genesis 4:8); but, in the ages since then societies have cyclically failed when they began to “call evil good, and good evil”! The word “Woe” is an exclamatory warning of extremely bad times, we are seeing this awful “Woe” unfolding right before our eyes! We are watching in horror as “evil men and seducers … wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived” (II Timothy 3:13)! We also have this very grave warning-exhortation, “If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land: 20 But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.” (Isaiah 1:19-20)! Right now, is the time for us to “Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die” (Revelation 3:2). We “strengthen the things which remain” by praying, reading the Word of God, going and being a part of a Church that preaches the true Word of God, and being both hearers and doers of the Word of God! Recovery starts with me/us, and it quickly spreads like a healthy vine!
