I John 4:4 “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.”
There is an archenemy of Jesus Christ and His Church and His People and His Word. Four times John refers to him as the “antichrist”; that is, he who opposes Christ. John tells us that the “spirit of antichrist” “even now already is it in the world” (I John 4:3). The presence of this evil being is evidence “that it is the last time” (I John 2:18). The “antichrist” “denieth the Father and the Son” (I John 2:22) and he is a “deceiver” (II John 1:7). In this “last time”, in our day, this vile being is revealing himself as the staunch opposition to Christianity and is seeking to take the front stage in our society. He and his “many antichrists” (I John 2:18) are feverously working to remove Christ, His Church, His Word, and His people from the forefront and render them inconsequential in our Country. He even puts on the cloak of Christianity so as to deceive the Children of God. Of late, he is inciting violence in many places and has no concern for those who are hurt by it. With his deceptions, he is spreading a cloud of confusion across our Country; and confusion is weakening us, making it easier for the “antichrists” to seize control. But, we must not become discouraged “because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world”! Let us not cower before the raging “antichrists”, but let us “Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” (Ephesians 6:11) and “that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand” (Ephesians 6:13)! We should be of good courage, “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.” (I John 5:4), and Jesus Christ Himself, the Great Victor, is the cause and power of our “faith” (Hebrews 12:2)!
