I John 4:5 “They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them.”
The “antichrist” and his “antichrists” (I John 4:3) “are of the world” while the Children of God “are of God” (I John 4:4,6). “They” that “are of the world” are solely motivated and guided by worldly lusts; but, the Children of God are motivated and guided by the Spirit of God that indwells them (Colossians 1:27). “They” that “are of the world” are “The wicked” that “are estranged from the womb: they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies.” (Psalms 58:3). Being “of the world”, they “speak … of the world”; that is, they “speak” of all manner of immorality, greed, dishonesty, lust, hatefulness, etc. And when they “speak … of the world” there is a whole “world” of folks, just like them, that “heareth them”. And when they “speak … of the world” their vile speeches stir up worldly minded people and motivates them to behave hatefully toward the Children of God. We should not be surprised to see those that “are of the world” doing their wicked deeds in our day, they’ve been doing it ever since Cain slew his brother Abel (Genesis 4:8)! The “antichrist” and his “antichrists” are even now busily stirring up “the world”, “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.” (I Corinthians 15:58)!
