I John 4:6 “We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.”
Every rational mind is aware that there is a “God”; but, only those who “are of God” “knoweth God”. Throughout the Bible, the word “know” refers to much more than mere cognizance; it refers to a loving relationship. In this case, “God”, in giving those who are “of” Him Spiritual Life, consequently instilled within them a deep reverential love for Himself and makes them worshipfully aware of His love for them. That same knowledge, abiding in all of God’s Children, creates a binding unity among them and gives them a drawing affection for one another and for the Gospel of Jesus Christ our Most Beloved Savior. Thus, “he that [lovingly] knoweth God heareth us”; that is, they seek every opportunity to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ Preached and they “rejoice with joy unspeakable” (I Peter 1:8) as they hear it. Furthermore, they love to “Go home to” their “friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for” them “, and hath had compassion on” them. (Mark 5:19)! And, they rejoice to “be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh” them “a reason of the hope that is in” them “with meekness and fear” (I Peter 3:15)!
