Romans 1:25 “Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.”
Cyclically, throughout history, men have “changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator”. In every case, when they didn’t repent and turn from their wicked ways, they ultimately brought great pain and suffering upon themselves. In most cases the perpetrators of the “lie” mock and laugh at those who strive to “cleave unto the Lord” (Acts 11:23); but, we are Commanded to “worship the Father in spirit and in truth” (John 4:23-24). And, He has given us “the word of truth” (II Timothy 2:15) in His Holy Bible and we are Commanded to read it, study it, search it, preach it, teach it, and live it. Moses told the Children of Israel, “Ye shall observe to do therefore as the LORD your God hath commanded you: ye shall not turn aside to the right hand or to the left.” (Deuteronomy 5:32). Joshua told the Children of Israel, “Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest.” (Joshua 1:7). Solomon tells us to “Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.” (Proverbs 4:27). And Paul tells us to “be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord” (I Corinthians 15:58). We are now in one of those great junctures in history when the faithful Children of God must face the opposition to Christ and Christianity by “walking in truth, as we have received a commandment from the Father” (II John 1:4). But, today the god of self and human lusts has taken a front seat in our Country, bringing ruin and mayhem to our Land. Let us remember that Moses told the Children of Israel, “thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God” (Exodus 34:14) and “the LORD thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God” (Deuteronomy 4:24) and the Lord told Israel “I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me” (Deuteronomy 5:9). So, let our cry be, “as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD” (Joshua 24:15)!
