I John 5:11 “And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.”
Our Almighty God has printed His “witness”/“record” of Himself within the hearts and minds of His Children. The testimony of this Great “witness”/“record” is “that God hath given to us eternal life”; for, when our bodies die our “spirit shall return unto God who gave it” (Ecclesiastes 12:7) and our “spirit” shall live on with Him in His “paradise” (Luke 23:43) until the great day of the Resurrection. On the day of the Resurrection, our God shall raise our dead bodies to life again and then we shall live on with Him inn “eternal life” in our Resurrected bodies. Furthermore, His “witness”/“record” gives testimony within us that our “eternal life” “is in his Son”; that is, “he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world” (Ephesians 1:4) and He gave His Most Precious Life (II Timothy 1:9) to secure our “eternal life” in heaven with Him. Thus, to have this “life” is to have “the Son” and to have “the Son” is to have this “life”. Those who have this Blessed “record” within themselves, joyfully endure and overcome the trials of this present life, always looking forward to “eternal life” with our Lord!
