I John 1:3 “That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.”
What John and the other Apostles had “seen and heard”, they declared unto the Church so “that” they “also may have fellowship with” them. True “fellowship” denotes a sincere union with a common belief and focus. The word that is translated “fellowship” is also translated “communion” and “partner” in other places. Thus, those who are highly blessed to have this “fellowship” are happily bound together in brotherly love and love for God, are blessed to Commune together, and are fellow servants of God working in unison for the Cause of Christ. This blessed truth, that the Apostles had “seen and heard”, is also referred to as “the common salvation” (Jude 1:3); that is, every Children of God is Chosen by God, called to Spiritual Birth, and Eternally Saved to Heaven exactly the same way, by the exclusive will and acts of God. And, with respect to our Eternal Salvation, “Neither is there salvation in any other [“other” than Jesus Christ, and many still reject Him]: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12). God has Created this Earth and many things on the Earth that are lovely and pleasant to see and do; but, there is no greater joy on this earth than what the Children of God experience when the Lord blesses His Church to meet together to worship. Thus, David declared “I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD.” (Psalms 122:1) and we are Commanded to “Not” forsake “the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but” we are to attend Church ourselves and exhort “one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day [of worship] approaching.” (Hebrews 10:25)! The greatest joy of this present life is going to Church, being a member of the Church, and being active in Church. Other things soon fade away, but the Lord’s Church-Kingdom is Eternal.
