II John 1:10 “If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: 11 For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.”
In this context, those who “bring not this doctrine” are the same as the “many deceivers” who “are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.” (II John 1:7). He’s not referring to those who are simply confused about some point of “doctrine”. These are hateful “deceivers” who are very destructive and are an abomination to the Lord for they reject “Jesus Christ” Who is our Savior-God. John makes it clear that we are not to have fellowship with such “deceivers”; if we do fellowship with them, then we are “partaker of his evil deeds”! We are often warned and commanded that “Ye shall not go in to them, neither shall they come in unto you: for surely they will turn away your heart after their gods:” for even “Solomon clave unto these in love.” (I Kings 11:2). This doesn’t mean that we should treat these “deceivers” with evil behaviors, for when the Lord turns their hearts and minds to His blessed Truth, we want them to remember the loving nature of our Church and return to us in Repentance and Truth. It takes God-given, Spiritual strength to firmly stand for the “doctrine” of “Jesus Christ” but, with a kindly demeanor, strongly refuse to fellowship with the “evil deeds” of the “deceivers”. In part, this Spiritual strength was what Paul meant when He said, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” (Philippians 4:13). So, let us pray that the Lord will give us Spiritual strength to strongly, but with a kindly demeanor, stand firm for the Truth of our blessed Savior “Jesus Christ”, and never compromise!
