Colossians 1:14 “In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:”
So grievous is man’s sin before God that nothing Created, nothing of man, and nothing of this world could pay the penal price to justify man before God the Father. Peter declared that “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12); that is, no act of man, no confession of man, and no offering from man can Eternally Save him from his sins. Neither can one man perform any act upon another man to Eternally Save him or to secure his Salvation from his sins. The Eternal Salvation of the Children of God is explained in judicial terms; where only “the righteous judge” (II Timothy 4:8) sits in Eternal Judgment of mankind; and only those who are the “Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ” (I Peter 1:2) are judged righteously fit for Eternal Life in Heaven. Because of His “great love wherewith he loved us” (Ephesians 2:4), our Heavenly Father sent His Only Begotten and Beloved Son into this world to “save his people from their sins” (Matthew 1:21). It was necessary for Him to come into this world, take on the body of a man, and keep the body perfect and without sin, and then offer His Perfect and Sinless Body to pay our sin debt by Shedding His Precious Blood. Paul tells us that the Children of God are “now justified by his blood” and “shall be saved from wrath through him” (Romans 5:9). There came a dreadful, but glorious moment on the Cross in which our Lord proclaimed, “It is finished” (John 19:30); which was a declaration to His Father that He had “finished” what He had sent Him to do, He had finally, fully, and eternally saved “his people from their sins”! Thus, on the “last day” (John 6:39) the wicked will be judged according to their deeds recorded in “the books” but the judgement for the Children of God will only be that their names are recorded in “another book … which is the book of life” (Revelation 20:12) and “whosoever” is “not found written in the book of life” will be “cast into the lake of fire” (Revelation 20:15). But, the “Elect”, whose names are indelibly recorded in “the book of life”, will hear the Lord Command, “Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world” (Matthew 25:34). And, not a single one will be overlooked or miss judged or left behind; for, our Lord Sovereignly Declared, “this is the Father’s will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day” (John 6:39)! Oh, let us faithfully worship and serve the Lord our merciful and gracious God, “Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,” (II Timothy 1:9).
