Colossians 1:19 “For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;”
Jesus Christ is in every respect, God Who is Incarnate as a man in order to accomplish His Father’s “will” (John 6:38-39). The “fulness” under consideration here is those attributes of Jesus Christ that are listed in Colossians 1:13-18. It “pleased the Father” to send His “beloved Son” (Matthew 3:17) into this world fully equipped with all the necessary attributes of God to accomplish His “will” (Hebrews 10:7). Essentially, our Lord Jesus Christ came with the full Sovereign Power and Authority and Absolute Perfection of God so “that he might be just, and the justifier” (Romans 3:26), “that he might be the firstborn among many brethren” (Romans 8:29), “that he might be Lord both of the dead and living” (Romans 14:9), and “that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people” (Hebrews 2:17). Therefore, we joyfully and worshipfully proclaim that “there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved” (Acts 4:12)!
