2023-11-16 Paul A Minister To Make Known The Mystery

Colossians 1:(25)-29  “Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God;

Paul explains that God called him to be “a minister” “to fulfil the word of God”, “the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations” (Colossians 1:25).  God had revealed the “mystery” to him and had called him to preach it and teach it among the Churches and to write of it for our learning.  Paul tells us that this revealed “mystery” is “the dispensation of God which is given to me for you”; that is, “God” revealed it to him and charged him to deliver the revelation to us.  This “mystery” had been kept hidden from man since the very beginning of time, but the Old Testament Law Service and the life’s experiences of many were practical prophecies of the “mystery” that is now revealed.  Those who lived under the Old Testament could see the rigors of the Law Service, but could not clearly see what it pointed to.  They had magnificent experiences but could not fully see the prophetic message of their experiences.  There are many wild philosophies about this “mystery”; but, Paul settles it, it is no longer hidden, God called him to reveal it to us so that we can worshipfully rejoice in it.  This “mystery” is the fulfillment of “the word of God”!
