2023-11-17 “the mystery” Is Revealed

Colossians 1:(26-27)-29  “Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:  27  To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

The “mystery which” had “been hid from ages and from generations” is now “made manifest to” God’s “saints”, and is heralded as “the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles”.  The “mystery” was revealed when Christ came and set up His Church-Kingdom among both the Jews and the Gentiles; now “there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him” (Romans 10:12) and “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.” (Galatians 3:28).  Furthermore, Israel is now and forever “the Israel of God” (Galatians 6:16) and Jerusalem is the “Jerusalem which is above” (Galatians 4:26).  The genealogical and geographic “Israel” and “Jerusalem” have been replaced by the Spiritual “Israel of God” and “Jerusalem which is above”.  The “Israel of God” is the Church that our Lord has built (Matthew 16:18); in which, there “is no difference between” the Jews and the Gentiles and “old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new” (II Corinthians 5:17).  The “Israel of God” includes “saints” from “every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people” (Revelation 14:6); and, we also learn that “they are not all Israel, which are of Israel” (Romans 9:6).  Furthermore, when the “mystery” was revealed, we learned that the Old Testament Law Service had been replaced by the Law of Grace; because, Christ, “after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God” (Hebrews 10:12) and “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus …” (Romans 8:1).  The revelation of this “mystery” shocked the whole world, and we still hear the deep rumblings of that shock in our day.  Let us rejoice, for we are blessed to live in the joy of the revealed “mystery”!
