Hebrews 13:8 “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.”
The “same” “Jesus Christ” that the Apostles and Pastors/Elders preached and taught in Biblical times (Hebrews 13:7) is the “same” “Jesus Christ” that we are to Preach and Teach in our day. And, we must be careful to not stray (Hebrews 13:9) from the “same” Gospel of “Jesus Christ” that the Apostles Preached and Taught. If “Jesus Christ” is “the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever”, then His Doctrine is the “same”. How He saved “his people from their sins” (Matthew 1:21) is the “same”. How He gives His people Spiritual Birth (John 3:1-8) is the “same”. The absolute surety of His people’s Eternal Salvation (John 6:39) is the “same”. His Commandments for attitudes and behaviors in his Church-Kingdom (Matthew 5-7) are the “same”. His loving care for His people/sheep, as our “good shepherd” (John 10:10), is the “same”. His compassion and loving care for broken sinners (Luke 18:13) is the “same”. His tender care for the destitute and needy (John 5:8) is the “same”. As the “author and finisher of our faith” (Hebrews 12:2), He is the “same”. His rejection of carnal majesty and glory (John 12:15) is the “same”. Our “hope” in His promises is the “same”; for, we live “In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;” (Titus 1:2). Therefore, “Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)” (Hebrews 10:23)!
