Hebrews 13:10 “We have an altar, whereof they have no right to eat which serve the tabernacle.”
Under the Old Testament Law Service, the Levites were to eat some of the meat that was first offered (Leviticus 2:10; 10:14; Numbers 18:11). Those sacrificial offerings prophetically pointed to the coming Messiah/Savior (John 5:39). The New Testament declares that the Messiah/Savior has indeed come and that He has completely fulfilled the prophecy of His coming and of His Sacrifice to “save his people from their sins” (Matthew 1:21; John 19:30). Therefore, those who cling to the Old Testament Law Service “have no right to eat” of the New Testament “altar” because they do not believe that the Messiah/Savior has come and has saved “his people”. In the New Testament Church-Kingdom, in the Communion Service, we “eat” the unleavened bread and drink the wine to remember (Luke 22:19) that our Beloved Lord and Savior has indeed come and has sacrificed Himself and has given His life and has taken up His life again and has ascended into Heaven. Furthermore, the elements of the Communion Table signify that our Savior “hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began”; He “finished” (John 19:30) everything necessary to “save” all (John 6:39) “his people from their sins”! The purpose of our works is to show our worshipful, loving faith in Him by obeying, keeping His “commandments” (John 14:15); not to obtain, secure, accept, or consummate our Eternal Salvation, for He and He alone has fully, finally, and forever saved “his people from their sins”!
