Hebrews 13:17 “Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.”
The God-Called Pastors/Preachers “that have the rule over you” are accountable to the Lord Jesus Christ and they are charged to be faithful to the Lord, His Church, His Word, and His people whether their service is with “joy” or with “grief”. When the Children of God “submit” themselves to “the rule” that the Pastors/Preachers preach, teach, and demonstrate; there is great peace and joy and prosperity in the Church and the Pastors/Preachers rejoice in their service to the Lord. On the other hand, if there is murmuring, complaining, ill speaking, self-centeredness, self-promotion, half-hearted commitment to the Lord, etc.; “joy” is quickly swept away by “grief”, and “that is unprofitable for” the Church and everyone suffers “grief”. As Paul exhorted the Church, “Therefore, my brethren dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, my dearly beloved.” (Philippians 4:1)!
