John 10:29 “My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.”
For extra emphasis, for our understanding and peace of mind, our Lord tells us, “My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.” His “sheep” belongs to Him in every sense of the word “gave”: we are His to have and to save; we are His to own and to love; we are His to Sacrifice for, and we are His to obey Him and follow wheresoever He leads. Paul makes it plain that “ye are not your own … For ye are bought with a price” (I Corinthians 6:19); that is, “bought” with the “price” of our Lord’s Sacrificial Blood. We are His; for, God the Father “hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world” (Ephesians 1:4); that is, “chosen” for Him, “chosen” because of His Righteousness, “chosen” according to His Will, and “chosen” to eternally be an inseparable part “in him”. He refers to us as “the children which God hath given me” (Hebrews 2:13). Our “Good Shepherd” tells us that “All that the Father giveth me shall come to me” (John 6:37); that is, “come to” Him by Spiritual Birth, “come to” know and serve Him personally, “come to” submissively love Him, and “come to” worshipfully follow Him. Then, our “Good Shepherd” applies the pinnacle point of our “faith” (Hebrews 12:2) that He has given us: He Victoriously declares, “And this is the Father’s will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.” (John 6:39). Now we proclaim, “O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.” (Psalms 95:1) and “Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ” (Revelation 12:10)!
