2024-06-28 “I should lose nothing”

John 6:39  “And this is the Father’s will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.

We all tend to lose things; such as, cell phones, car keys, and our favorite coffee cup. Sometimes a small child will slip away from its parents and, when the parents realize they have lost the child, they will launch into a frantic search for it.  But, our Lord has no such weakness.  Never, not even for an instant, does He lose track of those that the Father gave Him; who are the same as those who were chosen in Him before the foundation of the world (Ephesians 1:4), who are the same as the “Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father” (I Peter 1:2).  But, on an even grander plain, on the Resurrection Day, when He commands, “Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world” (Matthew 25:34), every one of that “great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues” (Revelation 7:9) will either “be changed, 52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye” (I Corinthians 15:51) or be raised from the dead to live with our Lord in Eternal Paradise; not a single one will be left behind or cast away! — “Even so, come, Lord Jesus” (Revelations 22:20)!
