Isaiah 25:6 “And in this mountain shall the LORD of hosts make unto all people a feast of fat things, a feast of wines on the lees, of fat things full of marrow, of wines on the lees well refined. 7 And he will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering cast over all people, and the vail that is spread over all nations. 8 He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it.”
When Christ came, much of this world was covered in a “vail” of ignorance of “the true God” (I John 5:20). As we follow the travels of the Apostle Paul in the Acts Of The Apostles, we find that, virtually everywhere he went, he ether found exceedingly immoral idolatry or Jewish synagogues locked in the rigors of the Old Testament Law Service as it was defined by religious leaders at that time. John was told that it was “the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world” (Revelation 12:9). And, John wrote, “And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.” (I John 5:19). As far back as we have any record, the “whole world” had been carnally bound to pagan idolatry and corrupted teachings concerning “the true God”. Most often the word “Gentiles” referred to those of the “world” who were not Israelites. Isaiah prophesied that “the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising” (Isaiah 60:3) and it was fulfilled by Christ, Who ushered in “A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel” (Luke 2:32); for, He declared of Himself, “I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” (John 8:12). Our Lord, Himself said, “this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations” (Matthew 24:24) and instructed His Apostles “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15). Paul told the faithful Brethren at Rome, “I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world” (Romans 1:8)! The Lord God Almighty had pulled back the “covering”, the “vail” that had hidden the teachings of “the true God” from the people. Now, the children of God, all over “the world” are rejoicing because the “vail” of ignorance has been lifted. However, the “antichrist” and his “many antichrists” (I John 2:18) and those who “are not of God” (John 8:47) keep trying to pull the “vail” of ignorance back over the people. Thus, we are Commanded to “Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” (Ephesians 6:11).
