2024-11-08 “in the last days it shall come to pass”

Micah 4:1  “But in the last days it shall come to pass, that the mountain of the house of the LORD shall be established in the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and people shall flow unto it.

In the grand division of times, we have been living “in the last days” since Jesus Christ came into this present world with His Kingdom.  John makes it very clear; in His Apostolic Wisdom and Authority that we are “in the last days”, he wrote, “Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.” (I John 2:18).  And Paul wrote, “Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.” (I Corinthians 10:11).  Micah prophesied that “in the last days” “the mountain of the house of the LORD shall be established in the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills”; that is, the Church of Jesus Christ would be “established” and have a position and rank in this present world above all other religions, societies, organizations, governments, and rulers.  Her rank and position are not dependent upon anyone or all the members together.  It is entirely dependent upon the Sovereign Power and Authority of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.  He has “established” His Church “and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it” (Matthew 16:18)!  Furthermore, Micah tells us that “people shall flow unto it”.  The Lord does use us in the in-“flow” of His Children.  Thus, we should ask ourselves, do we have an attractive evangelical spirit, have we sanctified “the Lord God in” our “hearts”, are we “ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in” us, and do we do it “with meekness and fear” (I Peter 3:15)?  Furthermore, are we, as the Brethren in Thessalonica who “sounded out the word of the Lord not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place” so that their “faith to God-ward” was “spread abroad” (I Thessalonians 1:8)?  Do we “Go home to” our “friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for” us “and hath had compassion on” us (Mark 5:19)?  Are we praying for our ministers, that they might be led of the Spirit to “endure afflictions” and to “do the work of an evangelist” (II Timothy 4:5)?  Are we praying for one another, and are we praying that our “Lord” will “add… to the church daily such as should be saved” to it (Acts 2:47)?  And, are we letting our God-given “light so shine before men, that they may see” our “good works, and glorify” our “Father which is in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16)?  Are we prayerfully anticipating that “the word of God” will increase and that “the number of the disciples” will be “multiplied” in our community (Acts 6:7); that is, that many “born again” (John 3:1-8) “people shall flow unto it”?
