Micah 4:2 “And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for the law shall go forth of Zion, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.”
The Lord God Almighty “will teach us of his ways”. He taught His Apostles Himself, and they were to preach and teach those things that they had learned from the Lord. There are critical things that “the LORD” teaches each of His Children Himself. We cannot “teach” anyone to know the Lord, for He alone, directly teaches each of His Children to lovingly know Him: “And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.” (Hebrews 8:11) and “No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.” (John 6:44) and “no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father” (John 6:65). And, when Peter declared that “Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God” (Matthew 16:16), the Lord told him, “Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.” (Matthew 16:17). But, more specific to this text, the Lord teaches “his ways” to those that He has already taught to know Him. His “ways” include His Way of Salvation, His Way of Worship, and His Way of living Faithful lives in His Service, and His way to be faithful to Him in a world where there are “many antichrists” (I John 2:18). As in the first century, the Lord calls and qualifies preachers to spend their time “Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ” (Acts 28:31). The Lord prepares His preachers for service Himself, for they preach and teach that “which the Holy Ghost teacheth” them; and, the preachers are charged to exclusively preach the Word of God (II Timothy 4:2), “comparing spiritual things with spiritual” (I Corinthians 2:13). These things are vital to our welfare in this present life; this is why we are Commanded to “let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: 25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.” (Hebrews 10:24-25); so, let’s all strive with all diligence and encourage one another to regularly attend Worship Services in our Lord’s Church.
