Psalms 107:8 “Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!”
The exact reading of this verse appears four times in Psalm 107. It begins with “O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.” (Psalm 107:1). Then the Psalmist exhorts, “Let the redeemed of the LORD say so” (Psalm 107:2); that is, we have something wonderful to say about our “LORD”, “so” let’s say it! Let’s “Go home to” our “friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for” us “and hath had compassion on” us (Mark 5:19) and let’s “be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear” (I Peter 3:15). No matter how bad things may seem at the moment, when we “stand still”, in a moment of time pleasing to the Lord, we will “see the salvation of the LORD” (Exodus 14:13)! Now is the time for us all to “praise the LORD”, “give thanks unto the LORD”, and to “say so” among all who will listen!
